I grew up in a communist country (Romania) and I didn't have access to all the video games, but when I was in high school my parents bought me a HC-85, a Romanian computer based on the Zilog Z80 processor that was using the TV as a monitor and cassette tapes for storing programs.

After graduating from the Polytechnic University in Bucharest with a degree in electronics I started to work in broadcast TV as a studio engineer and moved to United States where I'm doing the same thing, but for online broadcast designing web-casting studios and configuring streaming servers.
But after working the keyboards for some time I like to tinker with something and go back to hardware, and when I red about the new 3d Printing technology available to the masses I wanted to go on board.
